My TBB Fab Faves this week…

flavor trend...my favorite citrus. Can you guess my favorite citrus?
trending small biz brand.........I'm pulling a little Switcheroo...
The FAVE FLAVE?
LEMON! Lemon is my favorite citrus. Don't take it for granted...want an amazing sweet treat but not too sweet of a treat? Find a lemon recipe (ala lemon bars). Want to brighten up the flavor in a savory dish? Zest some lemon or add some lemon juice. There was ZERO doubt in my mind that I was doing a lemon biscotti when I was testing flavors. BUT, everyone who tried it (ahem, my traditional family, ahem) did. not. like. it. It drove me nuts because I loved it! There is no lemon extract, it's all zest and all lemon juice, and let me tell you, I use almost 3-4 lemons for one batch of lemon biscotti. Zesting that many lemons really should count as exercise. Apparently it does not. Back to the lemon biscotti no one else liked.
I decided to not care at all what they thought, I *knew* it would be a top seller and I KNEW it would be even better once the Arizona citrus season started! Point for me. I win. It's a best seller. Though it's a plain lemon biscotti topped with a little organic cane sugar, it is a winner winner. No, I didn't add a glaze, yes I thought of it. I actually was told to, but I intentionally didn't...the biscotti didn't need the additional sugar - its good just on it's own!

On to my Switcheroo!
I know this is a deviation from my featured small biz brand features. BUT read on - you'll see this is the perfect feature for all those summer farmer's markets you will be going to! That, and, I love cookbooks...like if you want to buy me a gift, get me a cookbook. I ESPECIALLY love a well-loved cookbook, one that been used and not just as a cute piece of kitchen decor, ya know what I mean...
If you follow me on Instagram, and you should, you'll get all kinds of details and drool worthy baking pics (sometimes cooking ones too!), you may have seen my absolute favorite cookbook is Barefoot Contessa Parties. BUT, that's Ina, I do not need to feature Ina. Everyone loves Ina, no one will fight me on that.
BUT, the Love & Lemons cookbook is another fave, but more so...I LOVE her Instagram...

I waited this long to tell you, this cookbook is a vegetarian one, BUT DO NOT LET THAT deter you. I'm very much so NOT a vegetarian and still love her recipes!
My favorite Caesar Salad Recipe ever is from this cookbook - AND, YES, it's unconventional. But that's why I love it. One thing to note, I add anchovies (or anchovy paste) to the this dressing recipe...mmmmm. Don't yuck my yum if you disagree.
She has three cookbooks total, but I love her very first one, The Love & Lemons Cookbook. My favorite part of this cookbook, it's separated by veggie! So, want a brussels sprout recipe? Go to the brussels sprouts section. Broccoli on hand but don't know what to make with it? Yep, you guessed it, there is a broccoli section. And so on! The LnL Caesar Salad Recipe.
A bit about The Love & Lemons Cookbook from the author:
The Love & Lemons Cookbook is my first cookbook. This book is for the vegetable lovers in your life. It’s organized by produce type from A to Z. Chapters include Apples, Tomatoes, Winter Squash, and more!
It’s perfect for using your farmers market finds!
It includes 100+ plant-forward recipes that are simple to make with minimal ingredients. They’re the kind of dishes you want to toss together to showcase peak-season blackberries or a gorgeous bunch of rainbow carrots. All are vegetarian, and I share vegan and gluten-free variations whenever possible.
I also share my best tips for cooking with what you have, teaching you how to create your own plant-forward meals without a recipe.
Like my other cookbooks, it has mix and match recipe charts.
